Bangkok
J’ai du mal à croire que j’ai mis si longtemps avant de visiter la Thaïlande ! J’ai tellement entendu de retours à propos de ce pays, et du très bon comme du très mauvais… J’avais donc remis ce voyage à plus tard mais je peux dire maintenant que ces quelques jours à Bangkok m’ont définitivement donné envie d’y retourner pour voir d’autres villes et îles.
I can’t believe that it took me so long to visit Thailand! I have heard so many returns about this country, very good and very bad … So I postponed this trip but I can say now that these few days in Bangkok have definitely given me want to go back to see other cities and islands.
Tout au long du séjour, en plus d’avoir visité la ville en nous promenant, nous avons surtout visité des temples, ceux de Thaïlande étant réputés parmi les plus beaux du monde. Mon préféré a été Wat Arun car, en plus d’être très beau, en y allant vers 9h nous avons pu profiter de tout le site sans personne d’autre. Au contraire, nous avons visité le King’s Palace le lendemain et, bien que l’architecture et l’histoire soient magnifiques, la foule y est omniprésente ! Nous sommes aussi passés par de nombreux autres temples, dont Wat Benchamabophit, un magnifique édifice en marbre.
Throughout the stay, in addition to having visited the city while walking, we mainly visited temples, those of Thailand being considered among the most beautiful in the world. My favorite was Wat Arun because, in addition to being very beautiful, going there around 9am we could enjoy the whole site without anyone else. On the contrary, we visited King’s Palace the next day and, although the architecture and history are beautiful, the crowd is omnipresent! We also visited many other temples, including Wat Benchamabophit, a magnificent marble building.
Aussi, nous n’avons pas pu eu le temps de faire les deux marchés célèbres – le Floating Market et le Railway Market – mais ce sera une bonne raison d’y retourner 🙂 Le floating market est un marché sur l’eau à faire en barque mais seulement ouvert le week-end et le railway market est tout aussi insolite car il se situe au bord de rails de train.
Also, we did not have time to make the two famous markets – the Floating Market and the Railway Market – but that will be a good reason to return 🙂 The floating market is a market on the water to do by boat but only open on weekends and the railway market is just as unusual because it is at the edge of train tracks.
Nous avons séjourné à l’hôtel Lebua de la State Tower où le rapport qualité-prix est top puisqu’il s’agit d’un hôtel 5 étoiles et qu’une nuit dans une suite coûte à peu près une centaine d’euros. En plus, c’est dans cette tour qu’il y a aussi le fameux Skybar au 63ème étage où a été tournée une scène du film Very Bad Trip 2. Notez bien que le dresscode du bar est assez stricte et que vous ne pouvez pas y aller en sandales ou en short.
We stayed at the Lebua Hotel in the State Tower where the value is amazing since it is a 5 star hotel and a night in a suite costs about a hundred euros. In addition, it is in this tower that there is also the famous Skybar on the 63rd floor where was shot a scene of the film Hungover 2. Note that the dresscode of the bar is quite strict and you can not go in sandals or shorts.
Nous avons testé pas mal de restaurants mais les adresses à retenir où nous avons le mieux mangé sont Nalim Kitchen, un petit restaurant familial très propre et abordable à deux pas de la State Tower, et Organika House, un peu plus excentré et aux tarifs plus élevés mais le nourriture y est délicieuse et le cadre magnifique.
We tried quite a few restaurants but the best places to eat were Nalim Kitchen, a very clean and affordable little family restaurant just steps from the State Tower, and Organika House, a little more out of the way and more high but the food is delicious and the setting beautiful.
Au final, je ne regrette pas d’avoir finalement fait ma propre expérience en Thaïlande malgré les retours que j’avais pu avoir depuis plusieurs années. J’espère donc y retourner prochainement et si vous y êtes déjà allés et que vous avez des idées d’itinéraires n’hésitez pas à les partager 🙂
At the end, I do not regret having finally made my own experience in Thailand despite the returns that I had had for several years. So I hope to return soon and if you’ve been there already and you have ideas for directions do not hesitate to share 🙂
